Watch out! Drugs!!!

Our students in the upper primary grades attended a series of lectures about the abuse of psychoactive substances and narcotics.

Our guest lecturer was Lambe Đorelijevski, defectologist and special education teacher, former head of the Department for combatting drug abuse in the Serbian Ministry of the Interior.

Our guest lecturer pointed out that drugs are widely available today and present almost everywhere where young people are present. This is why young people need to learn about the consequences of drug abuse early on. He also talked about the harmful effects of alcohol, tobacco and hookah.

These lectures were an introduction into a lecture for parent that will be organized in the near future.

Parents are a very important factor in the fight against drug abuse and need to be informed about all things their children are exposed to. In this case, that means knowing about the fact that drugs and psychoactive substances are becoming more and more present and that there are many new and much more dangerous ones available.

“Talking with the children about drugs, being involved in their development and being informed about the dangers of drug abuse is what can help a young person avoid the risks that accompany the period of adolescence,” concluded Lambe Đorelijevski.
