Religious mosaic

The students of the second grade, as part of the connection between geography and SaA (service as action), visited The Temple of Saint Sava in Belgrade and the Bajrakli Mosque on May 20, 2021. This day was an opportunity to cross religions and find the right measure of all earthly things.

Some of us entered the Temple of Saint Sava for the first time. Beauty, light and peace fascinated us. We visited the crypt and the place where Serbian Patriarch Irinej was buried.

Our host in the  mosque dating back in 1575, was Ramadan Mehmedi, the director of the madrasa and the chief imam of the Bajrakli mosque. In an unrealistically calm, cultural and philosophical conversation, our students received answers to many questions. The Imam responded with appropriate language that was understandable, concise, measured, tolerant of other religions. Today we could learn a lot. We came out with an impression that kept us going for a long time.
