International Day of Happiness – Small Moments, Great Joy
On Friday, 20 March, primary school students in the PYP and MYP marked the International Day of Happiness through a series of inspiring and creative activities that filled the classrooms with positive energy.
Throughout the day, students watched engaging presentations about the significance of this date, discussed what makes them personally happy, and reflected on the many ways they can bring happiness to others. Through open discussions, sharing personal experiences and their thoughts, they developed empathy, gratitude, and an awareness of the importance of mutual support.
A special part of the activities was dedicated to creating themed materials — messages, posters, and small tokens of appreciation that spread joy and served as a reminder of how much the “little things” matter. The classrooms were filled with laughter, jokes, and curious questions, creating an atmosphere where learning naturally blends with a sense of belonging and community.
Celebrating the International Day of Happiness once again demonstrated how committed our school community is to nurturing IB values and developing attributes such as caring, open-mindedness, and communicativeness. Through these activities, students strengthened their social and emotional skills, while also learning that happiness is most beautiful when it is shared.
Since happiness lies in the little things, and in our school, we create them together every day!
