HUMANITARIANISM IN ACTION

The brave ones hold their heads high!

On Wednesday, 30 November, Rudjer Boskovic School’s traditional charity event, Humanitarianism in Action, took place for the ninth time in a row.

As in previous years, this traditional charity event was organized together with the representatives of the Serbian Paralympic Committee, who greatly contributed to raising awareness about humanitarianism by attending and participating in the event’s activities. The aim of the event is promoting Paralympic values among school children and learning about Paralympics, the rights and opportunities for people with disabilities.

Sports activities were organized on all sport courts, and the central place was given to the auction sale of our students’ handicrafts. The aim of the sale is to collect funds for the children and young people from the Belgrade Drop in Shelter and Čukarica Day Care Centre for children and young people with developmental disabilities.

Besides our celebrated Paralympic athletes lead by Branislava Pekić Ranković, our most decorated table tennis player, the event was supported by the attendance of Mr. Marko Kešelj, Secretary in the Ministry of Sports, Mr. Zoran Mićović, President of the Paralympic Committee of Serbia, our parents who are celebrated athletes, Mr. Damir Kahriman, a celebrated goal keeper, Mr. Dušan Cvetinović a celebrated football player who played in many foreign football clubs, Mr. Branko Kokir, a prominent handball player and all our dear parents, who have supported us all these years and always look forward to attending our events. They help us raise awareness about humanitarianism in childrena s well as adults.
