Guest speaker Vesna Lompar

Due to our busy March programme, which included hosting the Erasmus Plus program and our exchange trip to Athens, as well as supporting the Society for Serbian Language and Literature action and celebrating March as the Month of the Serbian Language, we couldn’t fully engage in all activities during the month.

We focused on exploring the word that marked the past year, favorite epic verses, and finally, we had the pleasure of meeting Professor Vesna Lompar, PhD, a prominent linguist, a professor at the Faculty of Philology, and the president of the Society for Serbian Language and Literature.

We were delighted by the workshop on 6^th April 2023, with Professor Lompar, which is proof of how much we enjoyed meeting her. Grade 6 students engaged in logical and linguistic tasks, word association tasks, morphological puzzles, accents, anagrams, and decoding activities. The students in Grade 5 recognized the importance of language and spelling in everyday life, legal processes, and forensic activities.

The students’ curiosity and knowledge demonstrated their ability to recognize the role and significance of language, earning them praise from Professor Lompar. Our competitors in the field of the Serbian language met our the guest and were praised for their competition results. Seventh graders will spend time with Professor Lompar at the end of May in Tršić, and they will do their best to receive their diploma from her. The event concluded with the signing of textbooks, as Vesna Lompar is the author of the grammar and workbooks used in our school.
