Grade 8 School Trip to Tara
From 27 September to 1 October 2026, Grade 8 students went on their traditional school trip, spending five days in Tara National Park and staying at Hotel Omorika.
Each day was packed with a variety of activities. The students had the opportunity to discover some of Serbia’s natural wonders, including Stopića Cave and Gostilje Waterfall. They also visited the Museum of the Cyrillic Alphabet, Rača Monastery, Drvengrad and Bajina Bašta. Their adventures included a boat trip along the Drina River and a ride on the Šargan Eight railway, with stunning views of the Tara mountains along the way. Sport also played an important part in this year’s trip. They played basketball and football, swam in the hotel pool and enjoyed walks along a fitness trail combining hiking with outdoor exercise. Evenings were reserved for entertainment and films. The students danced at the hotel discos and watched Christopher Nolan’s film Tenet, as well as the latest Brad Pitt film, Heart of the Beast.
The editorial team of Đački kutak, our school magazine, heard nothing but positive feedback from Grade 8 students about this year’s trip. They are already looking forward to next year and all the new adventures it will bring!
