Diploma Programme

IB Diploma Programme is a comprehensive, pre-university course of studies for students in the final two years of secondary school. It is completed after passing the exams at the end of the final year.

General aims of the IB Diploma Programme are:

-establising internationally approved educational standards,
-encouraging appreciation of different cultures through mutual academic experience,
-achieving high academic standards,
-all-round education,
-assuming a sense of responsibility towards other people’s needs,
-raising awareness of the importance of preserving the environment.

Diploma programme offers to our students:

– modern curriculum
– development of skills and knowledges in different scientific areas which are essential for their further education
– gaining experience through the process of writing Written assignment, projects, and various research
–development of responsible approach towards education
– development of learning techniques and self-discipline
– development of critical thinking, personal creativity and human values.

The subjects Rudjer Boskovic School offers are as follows:

Group 1: Serbian A, English A, Russian A

Group 2: English B, Spanish B, French B, German B, Italian B, Spanish, French, German, Italian ab initio

Group 3: Business Management, Economics, Psychology, History, Global Politics, ESS

Group 4: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, ESS, Computer Science

Group 5: Mathematics: applications and interpretations, Mathematics: analysis and approaches

In addition to the six subjects candidates meet three requirements:

1.  Theory of Knowledge (TOK) – the interdisciplinary course designed to develop a coherent approach to learning that transcends and unifies the academic areas and encourages appreciation of other cultural perspectives
2.  Extended Essay – an essay of 4000 words that offers the opportunity to investigate a topic of special interest and acquaints students with the independent research and writing skills expected at university
3.  Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) – the requirement that encourages students to be involved in creative pursuits, physical activities and service projects in the local, national and international contexts

Students who gain the IB diploma are entitled to apply to universities in more than 110 countries in the world, among which are the most prestigious ones. Depending on the achieved results, students may apply for partial or full scholarship on some universities.
