Mental Health Week at Ruđer Bošković High School

Like every year, we celebrate World Mental Health Day on October 10th at our high school through special programs that include students from all grades.

First-year students, along with their literature teachers and the school psychologist, discussed the importance of mental health during adolescence over tea and snacks, with a particular focus on the school environment and its role in their lives. Our second-year students participated in a workshop with their biology and psychology teachers, where they learned about various factors that contribute to mental health issues, as well as the protective factors that help us cope with everyday stressors. This same group also went for walks in Košutnjak, dedicated to mental health, as part of their history and psychology classes during the Mental health week.

Third- and fourth-year students engaged in a discussion about the significance of dance and physical activity for mental health, while a small group of psychology students in the Diploma Program dedicated their classes to understanding depression and analyzing the factors that contribute to its development.

The goal of these programs is to foster open discussions about topics that are important to our daily lives in a safe environment. As in previous years, we are proud of our students for their demonstrated maturity and readiness to analyze these topics, openly suggest improvements for our collective mental health, and independently initiate programs that we will implement in the future.
