The fourth-grade student, Yan Nesterenko, together with his mentor, Nena Šurlan, represented our school at the Serbian Philosophy Olympiad, SOFIA 2024, on Saturday, March 16th, and won the gold medal. The Philosophy Olympiad is traditionally held at the Požarevac High School and is at the same level as the national competition in philosophy. In the competition of the best students from all over the country, Yan achieved excellent results, with his philosophical knowledge and skill in writing essays that require a clear structure, the ability to argue positions, critical thinking, but also creativity and originality of ideas.

Yan, together with the second-placed student from the Tenth Gymnasium, will represent Serbia at the World Philosophical Olympiad in Helsinki from May 16th to 19th, 2024.
