The Museum of Illusions

During the transdisciplinary theme Who we are, grade 1 students inquired into feelings and senses. This is why we visited the Museum of Illusions, where the students had the opportunity to learn about the sense of sight, perception, human brain and scientific explanations about why our brains cannot understand the perception of sensory illusions.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the museum and experiencing the fascinating world of illusions that made us question our sensory perceptions.

We bravely entered the Vortex Tunnel, one of the rare few such tunnels in Europe, to experience a whirlwind of illusions. We tried sitting on a chair that changes our perception of the size of something, making us think that the person sitting in this chair is extremely big compared to the other people in the room.  Another incredible experience is taking a photo of yourself in a room where you seem to be standing on the ceiling. There is also a room that changes our perception about size making us think that the person standing in the other corner of the room is incredibly small. This museum offers a wealth of fun and entertaining experiences of optical illusions.
