Send-off for Serbian Paralympic athletes leaving for Tokyo Paralympic Games
Ruđer Bošković students gave a warm send-off to our Paralympic athletes leaving for Tokyo Paralympic Games at Nikola Tesla Airport on Friday, 20 August.
For over ten years, Ruđer Bošković School, in partnership with the Paralympic Committee of Serbia, has implemented the Paralympic School Day educational programme, whose guidelines are defined by the International Paralympic Committee.
The exceptional results of our implementation of this programme have been praised by the International Paralympic Committee and have provided significant support for promoting Paralympic sports in Serbia.
Our school event, Paralympic School Day – The brave always hold their heads high, aims at learning about Paralympic sports through engaging in social, fun and sports activities.
Paralympic School Day is a part of our traditional charity event, Humanitarianism in Action, which takes part annually. Members of the Paralympic Committee of Serbia take part in this event and contribute significantly to raising awareness about persons with an impairment.
Many sports activities and creative workshops take place on this day, but the main event is the charity auction sale of handicraft crated by our students. The funds collected through this sale are directed to institutions and individuals in need.
We are certain that or athletes will achieve great results at the Paralympic Games, just as they have done before. Our school staff and our students, as their ardent supporters, will cheer for them at every step of the competition.
