Workshops on Friendship in PYP

Grade 2 students participated in workshops on friendship during the first semester. At the beginning, the students reflected on what it means to be a good friend and how each of us can help our friends become even better friends.

Then we collectively discovered the “codes of friendship” and what undesirable behavior looks like in friendships. Accordingly, we designed signs and symbols for friendly and unfriendly behavior and set up a visual reminder in the classroom.

We also created personal boxes using origami techniques. Each student had the opportunity to highlight the positive traits of their friends that make them good friends, as well as send messages of encouragement and support.

We selected the most caring, thoughtful, responsible student, the best communicator, and the „class sparkle“ (student who makes good atmosphere in the class)  for the month of November, and we will hold the elections again in December.

Through teamwork, we applied everything we learned about how to help each other in work so that our classmates could understand better what we learn. We will continue to implement all that we have learned and discovered in these workshops.
