Visiting Republic Hydrometeorological Service

Grade 4 students visited the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute on Wednesday, 15.11. according to the topic they were researching – properties of water and air. Head of department for aerological and special meteorological issues, Andreja Stanković, introduced us to the meteorological stations where ground measurements are made, as well as to the instrument for measuring insolation – a heliograph and a hygrograph for measuring humidity. The students witnessed the launch of a meteorological balloon into the atmosphere to which has a device with sensors attached. The device is used to collect data related to temperature, pressure and air humidity. We were amazed by the information that the balloon can reach a height of up to 30 kilometers.
