TikTok challenges

This week, our school was visited by Mr. Saša Živanović, a retired head of the Department for Combating High-Tech Crime at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia. “TikTok challenges,” online dangers, and cybercrime were the topics of the lectures organized for students in Grades 7, 8, and 9.

“Approximately 80 children lost their lives watching and participating in challenges. One of the challenges was to place a metal coin between a power outlet and a charger, which could also lead to a fatal outcome,” says Saša Živanović, an internet safety expert.

When parents allow children to use social media, they must keep a watchful eye and, most importantly, engage in conversations with them to understand what they are watching and searching for.

We learned to be cautious, to be mindful of the information we share about ourselves, and not to trust virtual friendships. It’s important to have trust in adults and never, ever try to solve any problem on our own.
