Schooltrip Mostar-Trebinje-Herceg Novi
In the first two days of the trip, the group has been exploring the beauty of Bosnia and Hercegovina. On September 30th, we have visited Mostar, discovering the history behind its name and seeing the famous Old Bridge. Then, on our way to Trebinje we’ve also have a chance to appreciate the natural beauty of the country by visiting Blagaj, little village settled on the banks of the river Buna. The spring of this short river is in the cave under the mountainside.
On October 1st, we explored Trebinje and its Old Town, have seen the two oldest mosques, including the Osman Pasha mosque, Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Orthodox church of Holy Transfiguration. The group also found out the life story of a poet Jovan Dućič and visited his grave in the monastery. Then the way was to Montenegro, to the city of Herceg Novi.
On October 2nd, the group explored the mountain Lovćen which is the National Park, got up to 1600 meters above the sea level and visited the grave of Njegoš. Then we used a cable car that took us to one of the most beautiful cities in Montenegro, Kotor, where we enjoyed its beautiful architecture and cuisine.
On October 3rd the group have a chance to rest and to use the hotels amenities. The next day we’ve discovered the Old Town of Herceg Novi, seeing the oldest fortress Forte Mare, the Orthodox church of Archangel Michael and Catholic Church of St. Jerome.
