Religious Mosaic

On Monday, 8th December, our students in the third and fourth years of the national programme embarked on a cultural and religious walking tour. Accompanied by their Religious Studies and Philosophy teachers, they first visited the Church of Alexander Nevsky, where they were welcomed by the head of the parish, Presbyter Stevan Vukić. He gave them a brief talk about the church, its history, and the saint after whom it is named. Next, they visited the Bajrakli Mosque, the main Islamic cultural centre and the only mosque in Belgrade. There, they also had the opportunity to learn about the mosque itself and its history. Finally, the last stop on their tour was the Sukat Shalom Synagogue, currently the only active Jewish place of worship in Serbia, located near Obilićev Venac.
