This is Erasmus+ and eTwinning project.

Based on worrying data on sedentary lifestyle, the project “Mens sana in corpore sano: Young healthy students” aims at increasing the percentage of our students performing physical activities. We focus on guiding students through the active patterns which have a huge impact on improving their lifestyles, changing them into much healthier ones. As it is much more than fun, sport is a perfect means of motivation, integration, reinforcement of selfesteem and a good way to get both physical and mental health, among other benefits. By embedding physical activities interdisciplinary in the curricular school life, we want our students to lead an active and well-balanced life. The project activities will support social inclusion, prevent discrimination and develop pupils´ social communication skills required for team work and cooperation. Our Erasmus+ project has certainly developed the necessary tools for ordinary students who lack the motivation to keep on studying and who are likely to abandon their studies. It is also our objective to empower young people facing fewer opportunities to experience success through selfesteem and discipline in order to make happier students and more active and satisfied citizens.

The aims of this project are:
-to raise the awareness on the value of sport and physical activity to improve health.
-to promote democratic and social values such as social inclusion, equal opportunities and equal chances fighting against discrimination because of race, sex, origin or physical abilities through sport.
-to develop the capacity to negociate with others and co-work together by reinforcing communication skills.
-to empower and integrate students with learning difficulties, different ethnic origins, social or economical backgrounds and offer them a sense of belonging.
-to develop the capacity to take healthy decisions away from peers´ pressure.
– to develop self-discipline, to concentrate to do better in exams and to give a feeling of success to those likely to fail academically and, consequently, in their future working life.

Mobilnosti

Five pupils and two teachers from each school will take part in each mobility. Students of all types; skilled, unskilled, handicapped, bullied or bullies will exercise, participate in school competitions and take part in getting to know our cultural heritage. They will enjoy physical activities during and after the school time and all of them will ensure the integration of minorities. School will be seen as a positive place for those who are at risk of early school leaving. They will get fun through sport while learning many other tools for life. Students with low academic result will experience success through our proposed activities. Self discipline from sport will teach them self discipline for academic world and they will be able to transform failure into success. The activities will be fully integrated in the curriculum. “Mens sana in corpore sano” is fully interdisciplinary. Language teachers will deal with oral communication skills and they will organize debates and round tables about different topics related to sport. Maths teachers will use data registered to draw graphics and use percentages. History and Geography teachers will deal with maps or flags. ICT teachers will work on e-twinning and feed the platform allowing students to have virtual interviews. Art teachers will include the logo contest and the design of the mascot passport. PE teachers take a very active role in this project. A filming week with debates will give the chance to develop oral skills in round tables moderated by tutors, becoming interdisciplinary in our curriculum. The activities will go from races to support old ancient language competition of mixed groups in order to ensure the integration of all members of school, parents versus children competitions, debates, round tables to reinforce communivative skills, poorly motivated students will be given the chance to coach some groups or events to take part and responsibilities in a higher degree reinforcing their self esteem approach to school life preventing early leaving. In the long run we will see the positive physical impact activities and sport during and after the project implementation. “Mens sana in corpore sano: young healthy students” is a project sustainable in time.

Pet učenika i dva nastavnika iz svake škole učestvovaće u svakoj mobilnosti. Učenici svih profila, vešti i ne tako vešti, hendikepirani, nasilnici ili zlostavljani će vežbati i učestvovati na školskim takmičenjima, a učestvovaće i  upoznavaće različite kulture i kulturne baštine. Uživaće u fizičkim aktivnostima tokom i nakon boravka u školi i svi će osigurati integraciju manjina.
