Nikola Tesla Museum
On Monday, 16th December, Grade 5 students visited the Nikola Tesla Museum. As part of their inquiry into the transdisciplinary theme How the World Works, they delved into the concepts of electricity and magnetism and observed their applications in everyday life. The museum visit provided answers to many of their questions. We immersed ourselves in Tesla’s world and learned a great deal about his extraordinary life, from his childhood and education to the scientific achievements that earned him global recognition. Through hands-on experiments, the students grasped the concept of electricity. They were especially fascinated by the demonstration involving a large Tesla coil. Holding neon lamps in their hands, they witnessed a small “lightning bolt” above the transformer, causing the lamps to glow.
This was a visit we will remember for a long time.
