Grade 7 Students ‘Forecast’ Better English: Demonstration Lesson on Idioms Inspires Everyone Present
On Wednesday, 10th December, the English teachers, together with Grade 7 students attending in English Language Acquisition, held a demonstration lesson under the inspiring title Make Your English Forecast Brighter: Weather Idioms.
The class was a lively blend of fun, creativity, and learning. Through engaging activities, students explored the meanings of various weather-related idioms such as under the weather, a storm in a teacup, and many others.
One particularly inspiring element was comparing how the same or similar expressions sound in different languages. In addition to English, the diverse linguistic backgrounds of our students enriched the lesson with examples from Serbian, Russian, and Chinese, turning the classroom into a small multicultural language laboratory.
The atmosphere was playful, motivating, and full of energy—exactly what a creative language lesson should be. Students left the class equipped with new knowledge, useful phrases, and a deeper understanding of how languages intersect and complement one another.
Another excellent step toward a “brighter” future for their English!
