Grade 3A Environmental Project

While working on their final Unit of Inquiry, Sharing the Planet, Grade 3A students explored how human actions and decisions impact the environment. Recycling was the part of the topic that sparked the most interest among the students. They gathered information, conducted research, took action, and demonstrated responsibility for the world around them. They found meaningful ways to make their voices heard. Magdalena Urošević and Darja Nešković noticed the issue of excessive cigarette butts being discarded and created a project to raise awareness about it. Anika Kostić observed that glass waste is not being recycled in restaurants and cafés, so she created an informative brochure to distribute in local venues.

Emmanuel Cvetkovski wrote a poem in English titled To Make Earth Better. Luka Vratonjić highlighted the problem of overflowing recycling bins and is calling for more containers to be provided. Aglaja Gosteva sent a message to her family: “Reduce your waste and recycle!” Mila Jovanović is appealing to fellow residents of Ostružnica not to pollute the children’s park and to use trash bins. She plans to post her posters in the park. Petar Ugrenović and Matijas Gregori launched an initiative to write a song about recycling. As part of a joint project, they are appealing to the school community to reduce the use of plastic cups.

Caring for themselves and others is a quality that truly defines the students of Grade 3A.
