El día de los Muertos

Our fifth-grade students visited the Cervantes Institute to mark the Day of the Dead (El Día de los Muertos). They were warmly welcomed by a member of the Mexican Embassy, who shared vivid insights into the significance of this important day. Students learned about the holiday’s true meaning, key elements, and unique aspects.

They also toured an altar, with each part explained in detail. At the end of the tour, they had the chance to write the name of a loved one who had passed on a small piece of paper and leave it on the altar.

The visit continued in the Cervantes Institute library, where the students had the opportunity to explore Hispanic cultures and the Spanish language further, as well as browse books that caught their interest. This visit wrapped up one of the many adventures awaiting us.

¡Hasta pronto!
