Día de los Muertos
Día de los Muertos or The Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated in Mexico on November 1 and 2. The family gathers on this holiday and welcomes the souls of the deceased family members with a feast. They believe that this day is spent in celebration and feasting with their loved ones who have passed away. This is why every house has an altar where people place photos of the late family members, candles, flowers, pan de muertos, clothes and food that their loved ones liked.
The Day of the Dead is nscribed in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO and is marked in Spanish language classes in our school.
Marina Milovanović, our Spanish language teacher, organized a workshop for our students in which made masks and made drawing which they used for a Day of the Dead poster.
