Cervantes Institute

On Tuesday, 5th November, Grade 9 students attending Spanish classes visited the Cervantes Institute to explore Hispanic culture and traditions. In honor of the renowned Mexican holiday, the Day of the Dead, which is traditionally celebrated in Mexico and dates back to the Aztec period, students experienced a unique altar display and learned about the artifacts and their symbolism. They heard firsthand from a representative of the Mexican Embassy about the origins and key elements of this celebration, which UNESCO recognizes as part of the world’s intangible cultural heritage.

“The students left with many impressions. We’ll check how much they remember in a quiz planned for our next class!
