Celebrating Pi (π) Day with Creative Student Activities
On Friday, 14th March, mathematics teacher Branka Zacero, together with Grade 6 and Grade 8 students, marked Pi (π) Day – the International Day of Mathematics. This special occasion, which also coincides with Albert Einstein’s birthday, was an opportunity to experience math in a new way—through games, creativity, and teamwork.
Students created presentations and posters dedicated to this infinite number, wrote poems in many languages, came up with stories, and took part in the challenge of memorising the most decimal places of Pi. The atmosphere was dynamic and inspiring as students discovered through various activities that math can be fun and a great source of creativity.
This day proved that mathematics is not just a set of rules and formulas but also a space for imagination, innovation, and shared learning!
