Books That Tell Stories: 6A Visits the Book and Travel Museum Adligat

On Monday, 28 April, the students of class 6A had the opportunity to visit the fascinating Book and Travel Museum Adligat. This visit was not only educational but also incredibly fun and inspiring for everyone involved.
With expert guidance, the students explored what they described as “the best library in the world”, offering a rich collection of books and objects from all over the globe. They had a chance to see books written on unusual materials such as papyrus, bamboo sticks, high-quality Chinese silk, and even ones with covers made from human bones.
One of the highlights of the visit was viewing letters personally written by Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison—an unforgettable experience for the students. The museum also holds impressive book collections and over 55,000 dedications and autographs.
But the museum is not just a proud host to an impressive collection of books—it also boasts over 120 personal legacies, including memorial rooms dedicated to greats of Serbian literature like Milovan Danojlić and Miodrag Pavlović. Visitors can admire miniature books by Nataša Ršumović as well as rare literary editions from the 20th century, including first editions of works such as Afroditin vrt (Aphrodite’s Garden) by Rade Drainac and Lirika (Lyric Poetry) by Jovan Dučić.
We hope that Viktor Lazić, the honorary president of Adligat, continues his travels and brings back many more fascinating stories and exotic artefacts.

This visit certainly left a lasting impression on the students, inspiring them to keep exploring and learning from the treasures of world literature and cultural heritage.
