Baseball
Hand-eye coordination is the ability to perform hand movements guided by the eyes. Children’s hands and vision work together to accomplish tasks in various activities throughout the day. Sometimes these tasks require synchronization of speed and precision, such as catching a ball and striking it with a racket or a bat, which is considered one of the most challenging elements in training for certain sports. The unit of inquiry for Grade 7 students is “Hand-eye coordination.” The sport where the connection between the eye and the hand is officially the most prominent is baseball.
Danijel Kozijak and Momčilo Kojić, individuals who have spent their sporting careers playing and training in this not-so-popular sport in our country, were our hosts at the beautiful baseball field located at Ada Ciganlija.
The name of the club we visited is Vojvode (Dukes). With their assistance and the guidance of our teacher, the students had the opportunity to experience this unique activity, get to know and try out the equipment that facilitates training. This will allow them to enjoy it even more in the near future and possibly organize an internal school competition. We are planning to arrange this based on the positive response, interest, and discipline displayed by the students.
