Architecture
On 22nd January, Mateja Đokić, a grade 9B student, held a workshop on architecture for grade 3 students, who had just started a new unit of inquiry titled How the World Works. The presentation on architecture was the perfect introduction to this topic, as it allowed students to explore how the world functions through the lens of design and the structures surrounding us.
Mateja, who pursues architecture as a hobby, introduced the students to key architectural styles and prominent contemporary architects.
He also showcased his work from architecture school, explaining how he built a model of a bridge that withstood over 120 kilograms without sustaining any damage.
As part of the workshop, students were tasked with drawing a bird’s-eye view of the interior of their dream house. The most creative submissions were rewarded with sweet treats.
The students thoroughly enjoyed learning, expressing their creativity, and spending time together.
