A Fun Trip to the Cinema for Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Graders

On Thursday, December 19, fifth, sixth, and seventh-grade students enjoyed a delightful cinema outing, watching the film The Wicked. This excursion was a fantastic way to relax and socialize before the holiday season. The students were captivated by the intriguing and unique storyline, with laughter and lively discussions about their favorite scenes continuing well after the screening.

Adaptations of popular classics always garner attention, especially when it comes to beloved children’s literature. This previously untold story focuses on the many generations of witches from Oz, with a special emphasis on Elphaba, a young and exceptionally intelligent girl with green skin, who is misunderstood and rejected because of this unique trait. Her best friend, Glinda, enjoys every privilege but feels unfulfilled as she has yet to find true love. Their sincere and unbreakable friendship, which began at Shiz University in Oz, is put to the test when Glinda prioritizes her desire for popularity above all else, while Elphaba remains true to her principles.

The Wicked enchants viewers with its stunning and rich set designs, vibrant colors, and magical landscapes that might inspire you to revisit the book and reconnect with the iconic characters that made us fall in love with American literature.
