A Visit to the Church of Saint Sava and a Meeting with Patriarch Porfirije

On Wednesday, 3 June 2026, Grade 2 and Grade 3 students visited the Church of Saint Sava in Belgrade. During the tour, they had the opportunity to learn about one of the most significant Orthodox Christian churches, see the Belt of the Most Holy Mother of God, and receive blessed ribbons and small commemorative gifts.

The highlight of the day was an unexpected and truly unforgettable encounter with His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia Porfirije. Despite the meeting being unplanned, the students had the chance to spend a few minutes in conversation with the Patriarch. Curious about where they had come from, he listened attentively as the students recited the Lord’s Prayer and spoke with them about their school and their faith.

The encounter left a deep impression on everyone present and made this visit to the Temple of Saint Sava all the more special. The students returned full of wonderful memories, new knowledge, and gratitude for the opportunity to receive the blessing of Patriarch Porfirije.
