Our School’s English Language Teachers at the International ELTA Conference
Our English language teachers recently took part in the annual international ELTA conference, held on 15 and 16 May at the Faculty of Education in Belgrade. This prominent professional gathering brought together a large number of teachers, educators, and specialists in English language teaching from across Serbia and abroad, offering a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, explore contemporary teaching practices, and expand professional knowledge.
In keeping with the principles of the IB MYP programme, which encourages lifelong learning and the ongoing professional development of all members of the school community, attending the conference proved to be a meaningful step forward in enhancing classroom practice. Through plenaries, workshops, and discussions, our teachers explored innovative approaches to language learning, strategies for developing students’ communication skills, and methods that support conceptual understanding, inquiry, and active student engagement in the learning process.
A particular focus of the conference was empowering teachers to become reflective practitioners — educators ready to embrace current methodologies and create stimulating environments in which all language skills can flourish. The insights gained and the examples of good practice encountered will be a valuable asset as we continue to raise the quality of teaching and provide our students with ever richer and more authentic learning experiences.
