Grade 6 Visits the Adligat Museum of Books and Travel

On Wednesday, 1 April, Grade 6 students had the opportunity to visit the unique Adligat Museum of Books and Travel in celebration of World Book Day.

Under expert guidance, students explored the museum’s rich collection of books and artefacts from around the world. Among the highlights were books inscribed on unusual materials such as papyrus, bamboo sticks, and the finest Chinese silk — and even volumes with covers made from human bones.

The museum holds over 120 legacies, including memorial rooms dedicated to great figures of Serbian literature such as Milovan Danojlić and Miodrag Pavlović. Visitors can also enjoy the miniature books of Nataša Ršumović, as well as rare literary editions from the 20th century, including first editions of works such as Aphrodite’s Garden by Rade Drainac and Lyrics by Jovan Dučić.

We hope that on our next visit, we will have the chance to meet Viktor Lazić, a globetrotter and the honorary president of Adligat, and hear first-hand stories from his exotic travels.
