Architecture
On 2nd December, Mateja Đokić, a Grade 8B student, conducted an engaging workshop on architecture for Grade 5 students. In his free time, Mateja enjoys exploring architecture, and during the session, he introduced the students to some of the most significant architectural styles and renowned architects of today, using visuals and his own explanations. He showcased a model he had created at an architecture school and explained how he managed to design it to support over 100 kg without breaking. Just like an experienced “teacher”, he prepared questions and tasks for the students, quickly capturing and maintaining their attention. He was assisted by his classmate, Andrej Savić, who helped ensure the workshop ran smoothly. The activities weren’t simple. Students were tasked with creating two-dimensional and three-dimensional models and designing their own future homes. Those who came up with the most original ideas and demonstrated exceptional knowledge were rewarded with sweet treats. The students thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience and bonding time. The presenter has already planned another session with PYP students for January.
