Opera for Children – The Chardak Neither in Heaven Nor on Earth

On Thursday, 31^st October, Grade 1, 2, and 3 students attended a performance of the children’s opera The Chardak Neither in Heaven Nor on Earth at the Čukarica Cultural Centre. This piece, presented by the Visoko C Artists’ Association, introduces young audiences to the world of imagination, illustrating the battle between good and evil engagingly and educationally. Through interactive moments with the characters from this traditional Serbian fairy tale, students had the opportunity to connect with the heroes and help them rescue their captive sister by solving riddles posed by the dragon. Created by Marija and Branislav Cvijić, the opera’s theme centres on the love between siblings and loyalty to true values. In the end, good prevails, and justice is restored. The story takes place in the setting of medieval Serbia.
