Botanical Garden
On Wednesday, 29th October, the seventh-grade students of Ruđer Bošković Primary School visited Jevremovac Botanical Garden. This was an educational visit and part of their biology curriculum. The trip was led by biology teacher Vesna Hlavati Širka, accompanied by homeroom teachers Branka Zacero and Vesna Zatežić.
After a brief introductory lecture by the guide on the history of the garden’s establishment, the students began their tour of the garden. During the walk, they had the opportunity to see various species of woody and herbaceous plants, as well as a section of the exhibition from the Art+Science Festival currently taking place in the garden.
The students were particularly intrigued by the greenhouses filled with tropical plants and cacti, as well as the bamboo tunnel, which they could pass through.
The guide provided detailed explanations about the significance of specific species, such as Pančić’s spruce, ginkgo, and yew. The students actively participated by asking questions and sharing their thoughts on the plants they observed.
They returned to school with new knowledge and inspiration for further inquiry in the field of biology.
