World Mental Health Day in PYP

World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10th all over the world. It is a day when we all work together to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and how we can improve it.
Students in PYP marked this day with appropriate activities and created their reminders on how they can take care of their mental health by being mindful of:

  • Their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
  • Their physical health
  • Learning how to handle stressful situations
  • Working on self-esteem

Grade 4 students, as part of the theme “Who We Are,” focused on the line of inquiry: Physical and mental health are equally important. They created posters that can help students in our school on how to maintain happiness, overcome sadness, manage anger, cope with jealousy, conquer fear, and overcome shame. As part of the event prepared to celebrate Children’s Week, they also included the theme of expressing emotions. Additionally, in ICT classes, they explored applications that can assist in health prevention, including one that focuses on mental health prevention called Better Me.
Good mental health is an integral part of our overall health and well-being!
