Excursion to Kraljevo

The Ibar River welcomed Grade 7 students with wide-open banks. They immediately agreed, united and gave each other a look of trust. Kraljevo has offered students beautiful landscapes through the Lilac Valley, an interesting and romantic prehistory of the origins of those parts, an incredible view of the medieval town Maglič, rich historical and cultural knowledge and enjoyment on the sports fields from October 1st until October 5th .
They learned about Serbian medieval history by visiting Žiča, Studenica and Ljubostinja monasteries, as well as the Lazarica church and the Museum in Kruševac. We learned about the tragedy that occured on 21. 10. 1942. in Šumarice, during the Second World War. The suffering of a large number of people, especially children, left our students poignant and touched.
The disco and original dancing feats of the boys marked one evening. For several evenings, the boys carefully took care of their faces by putting on masks, and the girls showed with their discreet make-up that they too are on safe cosmetic ground. On the soccer field for a couple of afternoons, there was a football fight without halftime, without a break, every second was enjoyed, the girls made sacrifices and were goalkeepers, and two “young” hopes appeared in defense, who, admittedly, are quite successful in Chemistry and Serbian language classes, as well.
There was a lot of laughter, joy, events, experiences, knowledge, but also something that this trip’s participants would call a secret. So it shall be.
