Vuk and Dositej Museum
On Tuesday, 30 November, grade 2A and 2B students visited the Museum of Vuk and Dositej. The students listened to the custodian’s presentation and saw the exhibits.
They learned a lot about the two major figures of Serbian history and their contribution to promoting literacy in Serbia. The students enjoyed the visit, asked questions and made connections between the exhibited content and the unit they are currently inquiring into, “Signs and symbols”.
They recognized Dositej’s work in fables we discussed and the morals that can be drawn from them. They recognized Vuk’s work as well and they showed a lot of interest in the reform of our alphabet and its development. The students made a direct connection with our writing system because we are working on literacy at the moment and we are learning the Cyrillic alphabet.
