Humanitarian event ‘Humanost na delu u dečijem odelu’
Sound Reading Book
On Wednesday, March 3, a group of students who participated in the recording of the Sound Reading Book handed over a donation to students of Veljko Ramadanovic School from Zemun.
As part of the traditional humanitarian action ’Humanost na delu u dečijem odelu’ Rudjer Boskovic School in cooperation with Performing Arts Company ‘Omega production’ , realized the action of recording an audio book for the sound library of Veljko Ramadanovic School for visually impaired students in Zemun.
MYP students, Masha Alvirovic 9B, Nadja Vesic 8B, Nanah Rabinovich Petrovic 8B, Luna Zimonjic 7B, Mia Jackson 6B, Leo Jackson 6B and Sonja Pijanovic 6B read lyrics by legendary music groups and performers: ABBA, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Paul McCarthey, John Lenon, and fourth-grader Anna Cheraneva read excerpts from Russian literature and poetry.
MYP students attended one school class where they met the students of this school and listened to some of the songs from the disc together. They also had the opportunity to visit the school, its library (media library), printing house, memorial gallery dedicated to the school founder Veljko Ramadanovic and specially equipped sensory rooms intended for students with visual impairments.
The visit ended with a tour of the school yard where there is a playground designed according to Montessori program, a sensory garden and a landscaped polygon for orientation and movement.
Our school received a gift, the monograph ‘Hands to the Light’ by Radmila Laban, which was created in 2017 on the occasion of the centenary of the founding of Veljko Ramadanovic School.
We are looking forward to a successful cooperation with this institution and some new joint projects.
