Light and sound
Our colleague, Dragiša Savić, who used to be a radio presenter, gave an interesting lecture to our Grade 4 students.
At the moment, the students are exploring a line of inquiry about radio waves within a transdisciplinary unit on light and sound.
Some of the questions explored during this lecture are the following: what are radio waves, who discovered them, how they are used and what types there are, how much credit Tesla and Mihajlo Pupin should receive for this revolutionary discovery.
The part of the lecture that was particularly interesting was the description of how the speech and music from a studio are sent to the devices in our homes so that we can enjoy listening to out favourite songs.
