Book Promotion – “Derby” by Dragisa Kovacevic

On Tuesday, February 25, our school organized and hosted the presentation of the book “Derby” written by sports journalist Dragisa Kovacevic. The book is dedicated to football players and fans of the two most famous Serbian football clubs Red Star and Partizan.   Our guests were people who dedicated their lives to sport – one of the most celebrated and most successful Serbian football coaches, Ljubisa Tumbakovic, the legendary Serbian football player Vladimir Petrovic Pizon and Nebojsa Petrovic, director of the FAS media service. The guests pointed out that a derby game is much more than an ordinary football match; It is a game that captures raw emotion and passion of football. They shared with our students their memories of the first derbies they took part in, both as spectators and participants. They told us that derby games were always greatly anticipated and spectacular. The best message was sent by Ljubisa Tumbakovic – Cheer for your team with all your heart, but always respect the opponent! After the presentation, the author and the celebrated athletes signed books for the students and invited them to attend the 162nd derby between Partizan and Red Star, that will be played on Sunday, March 1st.
